Lorraine Gardiner   -  Basketball  &  Coaching

  • Played High School Basketball with Minto High School ( 1953 - 57 ) , winning the Class "L" Championship in the 1954-55 season and Provincial finalist the other 3 year.

  • Played University Basketball for the UNB Red Bloomers ( 1957 - 61 ) , winning 3 Maritime Intercollegiate Championships and a finalist once. This team won 39 consecutive games over a 3 year period.

  • Coached at UNB ( 1963 - 67 ) winning 2 Maritime Intercollegiate Volleyball titles , 4 Maritime Intercollegiate Field Hockey titles  and 4 Maritime Intercollegiate Basketball titles.

  • Coached the New Brunswick Canada Winter Games Women's Basketball team ( 1967 ) to a record of 9 wins 2 losses , winning the consolation divsion.

  • Coached the New Brunswick Canada Summer Games team ( 1969 ) , losing one game to British Columbia , 1 - 0 , winning the Silver medal.

  • Won coaching awards from the Canadian Women's Field Hockey Association ( 1990 )  and Basketball New Brunswick ( 1991
