Ron Dupuis was born in Minto, on April 19th, 1954.
Ron's musical career started in the family home in Minto, playing guitar with his father, Arthur Dupuis, and his brother, Al Dupuis, at the age of 11.
Ron's first paying gig was for Junior Chase at the Red Barn in Minto. The band consisted of the late Fred Fulton on lead guitar, Willy Fasquel on drums and Gerry Smith on base. Ron was lead singer at the age of 14. At this young age he played for many gatherings and parties in the Minto area.
In 1984, at the age of 30, with the encouragement of his wife Diane, Ron entered several singing contests in the Fredericton area, in which he either won or placed second. Ron was a regular on the Capital City Jamboree from 1985 to 1987.
In 1988 Ron paired with the great Armand Richard of the famed Bunkhouse Boys. The popular duo was in demand around the province and enjoyed their work together.
Ron's talent was recognized by many and in 1992 he formed the band called Highway 10. The group was made up of great talents such as Emile Cormier and Phil McGeehan as lead guitarists, Wayne Hache and Alan Gray on base, Steve Silvea, Gary Thompson and Minto's Gary Gallant on drums. The band was very successful and entertained at points from Chipman to Woodstock. After 8 years of band life Ron decided in 2000 to take a break from music.
Ron was contacted several times while on break to re-enter the entertainment world. Again, with the support and encouragement of his wife, in 2005 Ron found the perfect partner in the very talented Alden Simmons. Ron and Alden became good friends and worked well together. With their mutual respect for each other and their love of music, they formed the duo Double Trouble Country. Ron and Alden are currently entertaining most weekends, and in July 2007, produced a very popular CD called Double Trouble's Kitchen CD.
Ron is a school bus driver for school district 17. When Ron is not playing music he can be found golfing, biking, or cutting wood on his woodlot. He also enjoys spending time with Diane, his two grandchildren and his two nieces. His many friends can find him at his home in Bronson Settlement or his summer place at Green Acres.
