MINTO COUNTRY MUSIC WALL OF FAME INC.
Fred Fulton

2001 INDUCTEE
One of Minto's most popular guitar players was born on Aug. 4, 1930.  At an early age Fred began playing tunes and imitating the runs of his life long idle Chet Atkins.  Before too many years passed Fred's talents started to become very well known.  He was very eager to play and soon the "Casa Loma Rhythmaires" were formed - Jimmy Chapman on the fiddle, Eldon Barton on bass - Rhythm and vocals, Barb Clark and Marg Fasquel on vocals and back-up, Leonce Andries on accordion and of course Fred on lead guitar.

This group was renown at the local dance hall and played the regular Saturday dances for over 30 years.  Soon the band moved into a regular radio spot on Fredericton's CFNB.  Fred has been playing guitar for 57 years and during that time has always been ready to help out in any Community Event - Telethons, Benefits, Country shows and thousands of jam sessions.  Many young Musicians have imitated his fluid style over the years that wish to emulate the Chet Atkins runs that Fred is so famous for.

He has always had time to teach any young musician who was willing to learn.  Dave McNeill started his career sitting and listening to Fred.

One of Fred's greatest qualities is his willingness to share his wonderful talent with anyone who wants "to play a tune".  He has played his wonderful music in all corners of this Village and in many areas around the province.
