MINTO COUNTRY MUSIC WALL OF FAME INC.
David McNeill born in Minto, NB on March 24, 1952, son of Harry and Cecilia (MacDonald) McNeill was the 7th son born in a family of 6 daughters and 7 sons.
David's interest in music started at 2 years of age when he played his "Pretend" fiddle along with Don Messer.
At the age of 13 he did his first real performance on stage - it was at this time he was inspired by Fred Fulton of Minto. He played in various groups for the next 6 years.
At age 18 he went to Calgary, Alberta where he formed a group " Noah's Arc". For the next 8 years the group entertained throughout the Prairie Provinces and as far North as the Northwest Territories.
While out West, Noah's Ark did two single recordings " Right on Baby" and "Pages". These recordings got airplay across Canada. At this time David's voice was chosen by Tommy Banks to do a recording with " The Original Cast".
In 1979 David returned to Chipman, NB where he now resides with Joanne and his two sons Lonnie and Lance. From 1979 to the present David has entertained with various local musicians. Presently he still entertains on a regular basis as the David McNeill Band playing a variety of instruments including guitar, steel guitar, mandolin and fiddle.
He has given of his talent to both his hometown Minto, NB as well as Chipman, NB.
David loves to share his musical abilities with children and adults in both communities - he has developed much new talent in the area.
