Dale Krall

2007 INDUCTEE
Dale was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on  Nov. 22/53 into a musical family.  His mother, father, three brothers and a sister  all played music.  Dale played and sang his first song at the age of six.  He started playing the bar scene at the age of seventeen with his brother Bernie, in a band called “The Other Side”.

Performing in Winnipeg, Southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan Dale also played in other bands called “Stagecoach”, and “Joe and the Krall Bros”, before playing in a hard rock band called “Black Ebony”.  In 1978, Dale moved to Calgary, and in 1980 formed a country/rock band with three friends called “Counterpoint” when he met his wife Lorraine.  They  then formed a Duo and did the lounge circuit around Calgary.  In 1992 Dale and Lorraine moved to Minto,  N.B. and started a dance band called “The Lucky Chance Band” which finally became “Hooked on Country”.  With current members Don Gould and “Boomer” Hachey, they still perform around Fredericton and surrounding areas. 

Dale has received many citations along with Lorraine for their charity and benefit work.  They were named “Maritimers of the Week” by ATV/CTY News Hour “Live  at  Five” Aug 2004.  Also certificated from The Torch Bearers of the Calgary Children’s Hospital Cancer Unit, The Canadian Cancer Association in N.B., IWK Children’s Hospital, The Minto, Chipman and Fredericton Legions and The Nashwaaksis Lion’s Club.

Dale and Lorraine released their first CD last year called “Candlelight Shadows” and are considering a second one in the near future.
