Cliffy Short

2002 INDUCTEE
Cliffy has been in the music business for over 50 years, he was born in Minto and loved to sing and play country music from a very early age.

Cliffy moved to Ontario in the early 50's.   A great stage presence and a sense of humor, he has hosted countless Jamborees and benefits around Southern Ontario.   He has played with many of his idols including Hank Snow, George Jones, Buck Owens, Bill Anderson, Porter Waggoner, Little Jimmy Dickens, & Stompin' Tom Connors.  Cliffy is mentioned in Stompin' Tom's autobiography. 
               
He also hosted "The Tommy Hunter Show' on radio,  and 'The Harry Hibbs Show' on Hamilton's CHCH-TV.

The father of two boys, he says "my marriage has been pretty doggone good" -  "my missus (Norma) has never discouraged me from playing, even when on the road from four to six weeks at a time."

At age 68, Cliffy has just released his debut CD "It's Never Too Late".   He says, "basically I wanted real traditional country music, nothing more - nothing less".
