MINTO COUNTRY MUSIC WALL OF FAME INC.
Born in 1966 in Chipman, New Brunswick, Alan grew up in a community full of country music. He began playing the guitar as a teenager along with his friends tinkering with garage bands and school events. In his twenties he discovered that his guitar and singing were much more than a hobby. Jamming sessions soon became a big musical influence giving him the opportunity to play with many local musicians.
In 1992, after having won a local singing contest at the Chipman Summer Festival, he was invited to join the band "Dirt Road" with band members Wayne Cunningham, Kim Blyth and Raymond Vautour. Over the years the members changed and he had the opportunity to play with Allan Gallant, Brian LeBlanc and Wayne Cunningham.
Alan formed his own band "Men Without Work" in 1998, playing locally with members Kim Blyth, Raymond Dunham and Blair Doucette and in 1999 became front man with "The Austinators"
Over the years, Alan has had the opportunity to perform at many weddings, benefits, telethons and special events, such as Chipman Summer Festival, Minto Coal Mining Festival, Oromocto Pioneer Days, Joey Knight Country Shows, Floodstock 2008, The New Brunswick Country Showcase, and special appearances with "One Way Ryder" as well as entertaining with numerous local artists. Alan also co-wrote two country songs on Steve Waylon's newest released CD.
In 2006, Alan and Cheryle Chambers brought their lead and harmony vocals together and formed the country duo "Cedar Creek" where they currently play regularly in Minto, Fredericton and surrounding areas. "Cedar Creek" is also affiliated with the promotion company Brom Entertainment.
Alan resides in Fredericton with his wife Shelly and they spend their summers at Princess Park, on Grand Lake.
